Ultrasound imaging of pancreatic cystic lesions

There are several types of cystic pancreatic lesions, the diagnosis can be difficult to their similar morphology. Cystic lesions can be diagnosed by various imaging methods, however ultrasound examination remains the method of first contact. Therefore it is important these basic morphological characteristics to identify and differentiate common cystic lesions from those with malignant potential. In sonographic imagine, there are several features typical for individual lesions, which can help to further diagnose.
