Breast cancer is the most frequent cancer in a woman population. Although it has an increasing incidence, mortality tends to be rather declining. An early diagnosis has a significant impact for reduction of the mortality rate. The work summarizes basic information about epidemiology, etiology and risk factors of disease. It deals with an invasive ductal carcinoma in details.
